Uber drivers

Traveling a lot means I tend to take a lot of Uber rides. And they're all slightly different. In Boise, I never get the same driver twice. Most of them have been nice. Only one was weird, as he showed up for my 3:45 AM ride to the airport in the snow wearing shorts like he just rolled out of bed - which, let's face it, he probably did. We hardly spoke except to agree that it was way too early to be up. I didn't tell him I'd been up since 2 AM.
I had a little bit of a scary ride in Austin with a driver who's name showed as Islam. He took me through some dark neighborhoods that made me nervous but got me to the hotel 5 minutes faster.
And then there's Dallas. How do you know you're in Texas? My first Uber driver was in a pickup truck and worked part time in oil fields. He was super nice and we had a great conversation about the weather in Texas versus Idaho. My ride back to the airport on Friday was with a hilarious Latino in a Camry. We laughed the entire 35 minute ride. She thought the Uber pickup truck was hilarious. We decided that her husband needed to outfit his truck with some long horns and drive for Uber. She then proceeded to tell me some crazy stories about a birthday celebration involving a party bus, strip clubs and a drag queen show where she got hit on by this tall, straight stripper guy while her husband was passed out on the bus! You can't make this stuff up! 😂😂😂
It was a long, busy week in Dallas. I learned a lot for work. I didn't get a chance to do any sightseeing - just the Uber show. And the only non-work picture I took was a lovely sunset sky on Monday evening. I took a nice walk to stretch my legs after the flight and drive.
My flight home has been delayed due to all the storms. I won't be home until midnight. And I fly back out to Utah on Sunday. Just enough time at home to get my taxes done, laundry and repack. Travel life.
Update: After 3 delays and 4 gate changes, I'm hoping I make it home tonight. Storms + Spring break! Tempers are rising. After the long trek to the 4th gate change and a different terminal, some big guy told the gate staff that if they change the gate again, they'd need to call the paramedics. 😂😳
As always, thanks for reading!
