Off to the races….

After a bit of roughness with my job, this week I start the next phase of my training. I fly out early in the morning to Phoenix, AZ. This morning, it was 10 degrees with 6 inches of snow on the ground. Phoenix is supposed to be in the low 70's. Quite the change. I'll be in a different place each week for the next several months.

I've enjoyed the snow from the three winter storms we've had over the last week. I'm definitely perfecting my snow shoveling! I'm about 2/3 unpacked.

Here are a few random things that have come up:

  1. I need to figure out groceries while I'm traveling. I don't want to just eat frozen dinners on the weekends at home. But I had just finished grocery when I found out I'd be starting travel. Which means I have fresh stuff that will go bad.

  2. Along those same lines, I'll miss garbage pickup during the week. So I'll have to find a drop off center. These are things you don't normally consider.

  3. On the sidewalks in my new neighborhood, some of the mailboxes are randomly further back into the sidewalk. So they just added this little extra piece to maintain the width. People with OCD must be having nightmares. (See picture below)

  4. I finally got a good look at some of the snow covered mountains near me. They are jaw droppingly gorgeous. I can't believe I live here.

  5. Boise seems to have a very high number of pizza places that aren't chains.

  6. Boise also has convenience stores called "Stinker". Weird but true.

At any rate, thanks for reading. Enjoy the pics!
