Finding my way

Hello friends,

This coming week ends my first month in Boise. The snow has melted. But it's been grey and rainy on my weekends home from travel. This weekend, I was able to find my townhome from the main road without GPS. It's a start to learning my around a new city. I found a hair salon that I love with a name that makes me giggle - Lunatic Fringe. It's so me. I still don't have a TV or a spare bed yet. Baby steps.

Last week was Los Angeles. Next week is Texas (Austin, Midlands and possibly Corpus Christie). After that, it's two weeks in San Diego/La Jolla. In LA, I stayed outside San Bernardino. And experienced my first 4.2 magnitude earth quake. I woke up to my bed heaving and shaking and the glass panels around the desk in the hotel room shaking madly. It was over quickly. But it left me a little disoriented and slightly nauseous.

I got drive by a few iconic places - some I've only known through movies (UCLA, Beverly Hills, Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica Freeway, Bel Air). I had lunch with colleagues at a charming creperie next to the Atlantic Ocean in San Clemente. Not a bad trade off for living out of a suitcase. At the same time, I'm working madly to absorb all the information I need for this new job. As they put it, it's like drinking from a fire hose - and it will get better. Definitely trusting the process.

Here are some pics from my travels. If anyone knows what kind of tree and plants these are, please clue me in. These were near the Beverly Hills sign.

As always, thanks for reading.

Until next time......

Jules
